I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, or whether it should be in the sculpting section but here goes anyway.
I'm looking to make straps and buckles in 1/16th scale for WWII US Army backpacks and pouches, they are going to be hanging off the side of a Sherman tank turret.
The straps I can make, I usually use Euthymol toothpaste tubes cut into strips then covered with masking tape, it's a good technique and I like the look.
Buckles however are a bit more tricky to make convincingly, so I'm reaching out where ever I can with the hope that someone has the answer.
I've looked at Aber's products without joy, they do make a set of photoetch for German uniforms (which I already have), this does have some belts and other short straps but not enough and only a couple of belt buckles.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
All the best,
David

Hi Dave,
I made some 1/16 U.S buckles for my Point Du Hoc figures equipment, I made one buckle and then moulded it for multiple use, saves a lot of work if you need a lot of them.
Anyway I can cast you some in resin and send so you can try them and see if they are suitable for what you need.
Just confirm your postal address and I will get them off to you.
Cheers
Steve

Thanks Steve, your offer sounds great, thank you very much.
I've just emailed you my address.
I see that your email address has changed recently, from .com to .co.uk is that right?

Look what just arrived in the post this morning.
Not just some buckles (the two stubby little sets of 5) but all these other goodies too.
Steve, not only are you a great help, you're very generous too.
Thanks a million.
Sadly, it will be a while before I'm next back at my bench, I'm working tomorrow then off on holiday for a week.

Glad they got to you quickly Dave, thought I would throw in some other items that might be useful, being able to cast my own items I have plenty of spares laying around.
Glad I could help you, enjoy the holiday and all the best
Steve
