Could a toy maker like Britains have what you're looking for ? Once you've got a basic "figure", you could then up-detail it to miniature quality. I've seen gift shops at zoos or natural history museums here in Canada that sell soft plastic toy animals (although if they sell a buffalo, I don't know for sure) that might be source for what you're seeking.

I think Der Bunte Rock (I hope I got that right) has a vignette in 54mm of a warrior on a rock looking down at a grazing buf. It is somewhere on Red Lancers list of goodies. Stephen Jamison (Bluesking) had a buffalo hunt dio at Atlanta with plastic Britains buffalo which were very effective. Luck.

Hi John,

in 54mm, Imrie-Risley Miniatures had buffalos being chased by Sioux indians. I don't see this featured anymore.

You may want to try this other website. They advertise a bison running.

The Britains Zoo Series Buffalo have been out of production for some years but they regularly appear on ebay - that's were I got mine

Preiser, owner of the molds that were formerly Elastolin toys, has two different buffalo (running ans standing) figures in 60mm. Availability can be somewhat dodgy. I have four (from years ago) that I use in a buffalo hunting scene.
