Hello all,

I would like to get opinions on something. I have began working on producing a line of 54mm buildings to be used in dioramas, etc. for my company Drummer Boy Miniatures.

I would like to know if modelers would prefer to have interior details to the buildings or just the outside structure details?

Thanks

Great idea. Generally I use only exteriors, but might be tempted to do interiors if materials were available. However, I'd suggest selling the interior features as separate add-on kits, so someone wanting only an exterior will not have to overpay for an interior they will not use. There will also be a market for these products among toy soldier collectors, as the buildings, etc. for these are greatly overpriced. Be sure to advertise in the toy soldier rags.
Good luck.

Have you tired posting....

..this idea on other sites? such as Missing Lynx, or Armour Rama?

lots of types there with ideas, requests, and willing to answer your questions.

The thought being that exteriors can be dressed up to represent a range of periods, and ineriors (if seperate) can be used also if the figure/ action is 'inside'.

If you already have, I'll just wander off back to he bench.

cheers

Jamie

Made in resin

Hi Robert,

Options allow you to segment your market. Toy soldier collectors usually want completed pieces. Modellers want kits.

Avoid polyfoam, plaster or metal if possible (too flaky, brittle or too heavy). Hopefully you will consider resin.
