I have a question about a "resin bust "that is 120mm ore 200mm

It's maybe very stupid what I gonna ask but what is the difference about these 2???

I know the 200mm is bigger but how much bigger,is it the height ??? I must made a decision and that's why I like too ask this, im confused now??

Is it better the 200mm for the face and the details,is that not going to be very big?? I absolute don't know, does someone know where the difference is and what should be the best please???

Thank you very much
Mario

Hi Marco,

The mm measurements refer to the height of the model from head to toe IF it was a full figure. A 120mm figure (or a part thereof like a bust) thus scales out to about 1/16; a 200mm bust equates to about 1/9.

The 1/9 (200mm) bust will therefore be bigger in size and will presumably have more detail than a 1/16 (120mm) bust, although the level of detail often comes down to the quality of the sculpting; some of FeR’s 1/16 busts are incredibly well detailed compared to some of the gargoyle-like features on some of the old Verlinden 1/9 busts.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Thank you very much for helping me out,I was thinking like it should be a full figure ,and was thinking, that is very big for a bust.

But now I understand it, it's gonna be 200mm ,that's a very good size. They are gonna make a personalized bust ,that is the reason why I like to know this,
I like to thank you for your time and very good answer Brian (y)

Cheers,
Mario

What Brian said is the "right" way when sizing busts by measurement rather than scale, but sadly not everyone does it this way. A lot of 3D print sellers quote the overall height of the bust you will receive from bottom of base to highest point of the model.

Best option I have found is to ask the seller directly how they are sizing.

Hey Rob, I was completely wrong the way I think about the sizes, should be very very big :) but now I understand how it works
and is for that cyclists Wout van aert like I show you before, remember???

A 3D digital sculptor is working on it now

So gonna ask 2 from 200mm

I remember from before. (y)

200mm is a 1/9th scale bust so a really nice size. Large enough for good detail and accuracy but not so large you need to worry about skin texture. I look forward to seeing the model when you get it.

yes, gonna let print 2 of them, one for practice and the other one mmmmm for the good one let me say (I hope) complete out of my comfort zone)
it take about a month to make that in 3D sculpting on PC ,im also exited how it's going too look ;)

Thank you Rob
