Guys here is a bust i just finished up. :) It is a warriors bust that I did a little converision too. I added hair and the M-43 cap after a little work on the head. I removed all the molded on patches and used warriors decals in there place. ;) He is painted in oils and Vallejos. Comments welcome. I really enjoyed this one. And the WW1 infantryman and Cav. Trooper are almost done. Regards Brock

Brock,
My only comment would be to add a lil more dramatic highlight to your flesh tones...at the tip of the nose, the nostrils and at the highest points on the cheeks...this will really make the face stand out. Not sure what you used for the 5o'clock shadow, but might want to consider blending right at the edges so that there isn't a noticable line where it begins...just take a #3 brush and with a dipple motion blend it in...
Take a look at this pic and see if you can see what I mean by the highest highlights (they are where the white lines are at).

Hope this helps

All the best

Patrick

Thank you all for the comments. Patrick thank you for the pic I can see by it what your saying. My fear is that the oils have dried on the face will this cause a problem if I go back with highlights? Thanks again guys for the comments. Brock

Brock,
Really up to you...
My recommendation is to use a very think acrylic glaze over the oils to get the hightlights when the oils are still a lil wet. Consider trying on your next piece...

All the best

Patrick

Patrick,
Again thanks for the help. I printed the pic you did to show where the highlights go and will use it on the next bust I do which by the way is on the desk as we write this. Thanks again. Brock
