Hi Pedro, I guess Pegaso left this space free, because you can paint the figure with the colors of other regiments, at least 12 different.
This is an example with the same pattern as yours: eagle, crown and leaves. Anyway, of course, is your choice ad the number or not.

That is absolutely stunning, just stunning...well, not just stunning because it's a joy to behold too, very well done. I'm not convinced the lack of a numeral is an omissian; I'm pretty certain that rich, young hussar officers wouldn't always follow regimental conventions.
