Hi everyone, I wanted to present one of my last works of the year.
It is a scene sculpted by Stefano "the Lebanese" D'antonio for The Bodi in 1/35 scale, for which I made the boxart

At the conclusion of the battle for the conquest of the French city of Carentan, which took place on June 14, 1944, which allowed the reunification of the American troops landed on the beaches of Utah and Omaha, elements of the airborne troops and infantry were finally able to rest, having established a firm bridgehead in the Cotentin peninsula.
Here an engineer from the 326th AEB (Airborne Engineer Brigade), 101st AB Div., and a T5 from the 4th Inf. Div. Celebrate the conclusion of the battle with the "liberation" of a bottle of Calvados.

Hi there

What a lovely Vignette , really like the painting on this , nice figures as well that really work well together

As always the basework is the same high level of modelling , like the weathering on the woukd and the wall colouring

Thanks for sharing this and all through 2020 ..look forward to more in 21

Why not enter a piece into FOTM and the Vignette & Diorama comp as well

Happy benchtime

Bull, Excellent job on the Bodi figures and scene. Man, you really nailed it!(y) I really like the way the total picture comes together. Definitely tells a story .
Like the attention to detail on the figures too! The leather, OD, insignia, helmets...Really well done. And the groundwork and setting is also excellent. All Around Super Piece of Work! Would love to see this in person. Our Atlanta Show is in mid February here in Atlanta, GA. Not sure of where you are located....Would love to me you and see your work!

Very nice painting and presentation with this vignette.
I do like the static, at ease poses of these figures.

Cheers,
Andrew

thanks guys I am very pleased that you enjoyed this job. I think it has now become clear that I adore the American figures of World War II

Thank you for the nice words because they are very pleased.
I've see that you have observed the work in all its details. It would be very nice to me too sooner or later to participate in your show in Atlanta but coming from Italy in this period I think it is a bit complicated

Hey Bull. I totally understand. Maybe one day. Know we folks here in the South are very hospitable people. You are more than welcomed anytime my friend,

Initially I didn't even realize these are... 1/35 scale figures!... My God! How can you paint such amazing details on such small scale figures, including the eyes?!... Amazing!

Cheers!

Thanks. Actually the 1/35 scale is quite small, but when the detail level of the sculpture is good, even the painting work is easier. I highly recommend these new pieces from The Bodi, because you will spend pleasant hours of painting.

Excellent modelling and like others have mentioned it amazes me every time I see 1/35 or 54mm painted to this level, everything is there and has it's shadows and highlights and it all blends together beautifully.
TERRY

thank you very much for the nice words. I found that I am having a lot of fun with these 1/35 figures. They allow me to "tell stories" in very small spaces and to give visibility to subjects that are usually designed for more complex and large dioramas, rather than the simple single figure.
