Hi all,
to avoid burning out on the Yukata Lady, and practice sculpting techniques as much as anything else, I'll now share what I've been working on.
The first is "Bat Duck - the Duck Knight of Quackham City" , basically a little bust, going to end up with his arms (wings?) folded across his chest.
It all came about with the idea of the 'Duck' series. so "The Duck Knight" seemed like a fun thing to do.......
The Ivan trooper is basically a caricature come 'fiddle with sculpey to see what works'. Some of this is Gary Dombrowskis sculpting 101 techniques, mostly as a practice. It is also partly inspired by another sculptor who sometimes posts on here, Ramirez Miniatures, a Spanish sculptor, fun little sculpts.
Here is his blog spot

all in Spanish though, still the visuals are fun!
One thing I have noticed is that my sculpting has improved (Well, less frustrating for me!) ever since I polished up my main tools, and used water as a lubricant. Allows for a much smoother finish, so another basic lesson learned.
The Ivan has a lot of minor errors on it, lack of symmetry and so on, but as a practice piece, I had a lot of fun with the face and head, and learned a bit, so that must have a plus in it somewhere....
Errk, need to do other then fast snaps of work....
Thanks for looking, comments welcome
cheers
