Hi Henk

Right, I meant to post this last week, but work got somewhat in the way. Anyway, I've made some decent progress on this one, all the main parts are now put together, still a few details to finish, but they will get dine in the next week or so.

Thank you Peter, glad you like him. I've worked a bit more on the hair of the severed head, and added more "dried blood".

Hi Henk

Coming together nicely now , personally not keen on the blue but that's me

Look forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

I choose blue because it was a common colour, woad being a widely available dye, very good for clothing and paint. It is a bright and vivid colour, which I think would be appropriate for a war standard. I must admit, that I.m not 100% taken with the cloak, I may still change that.

I specifically didn't use the blue paint as war paint on the figures, because the still wideheld popular belief of Celts painting themselves with Woad, is somewhat contentious.

Glad you like him. He's all but finished, when I get home I have a few details to finish, and then he goes in the cabinet.
Unless I decide to change the cloak....

See Kev, you've done it now ;-)

I have painted the base that it came with, which I'll use until I find a nice wooden base. I'll as Richard if he has a nice piece when I next order a few bases from him.

Looking at the cloak from this side, I am contemplating a change. I have a pot of Ivanden Yellow, from Citadel, which is a nice Yelow with an Orangy hue....

Watch this space .

Kevin.... stop it...

Well, maybe a patterned edge...

Seriously, I really appreciate your, or indeed anybodies, comments and opinion. A critical look at our work, helps us see what we have overlooked, and helps us improve. That's what I like about PF.

After Kev's comment about the Blue, I've overcoated the Blue with Citadel's "Ivanden Yellow" , which has created a rather pleasing green. I really like the Citadel contrast paints.
I've got to work about on the details this weekend, but it's getting there.

Lol, no worries Kev. I won't hunt you down. I'll likely bump into you later this year at a show...

I'm working on the weave. The slightly translucency of the Citadel paint has already created an effect one way, a slightly diluted second layer will go across the brush strokes of the first layer.

Watch this space lol.
