And this is what the postman brought the other day :)

I've spent a lot of time tracking the web trying to find a copy for a reasonable price. Finally ebay was the place :)
Seems that this figure is not easy to find nowadays. For me is one of the top ten figures in all the time.
I am even a little bit scary to paint it not to screw it up!!!
And these are the first steps. I started with the metals and followed with the hair and skin.

Honestly I don't know what to do with the trousers. My first impulse was to make a tartan but I think that its a pitty with all the beautiful wrinkles so I think I will leave it plain or maybe some thin stripes... I will think about it during the weekend... :p

One of my fav's from this period too and you've made a lovely start with the skin tones; proper red head :p

(I'm afraid I couldn't resist doing a tartan or check on the trousers despite the wrinkles)

Great start on a very nice figure. Such a shame that Elite are no more, they had some cracking pieces in their range. It would be great to see another company acquire the masters and reissue them.

Thank you sirs!

You are right Steve, such a pitty. In Pegaso's official page they commercialize some of their figures. I supose they were distributors and still have some old stock. Wishe they reissue them!!!!
I've heard some rumors that Latorre models could release or reissue again some figure...

This is the sketch for the trousers and the drawing where I took the inspiration for the pattern. I have decided to use darker and closer colors to avoid taking too much attention and at the same time not being boring.
Any suggestion is welcome!
I leave lights and shadows for the next session.IMG-20160222-WA0016.jpeg IMG-20160222-WA0018.jpg

Today I've made some advances in the terrain (putty and sandy paste). Tomorrow I will prime it in chaos black and start painting.

Regarding the Celt, he already has his trousers done! I have used just 4 colors: black, abysal blue (S75), turquoise and sunny skin tone.
I think I have done too much contrast, maybe it was not necessary so much as the folds of the sculpture are very evident. Tomorrow with daylight I will check again...

And that's all for today!!!!
Cheers,

Thanks Stephan!

Offtopic:
I'm planning a trip to Glasgow for the Eastern holidays to visit some relatives, and I have just discovered that in the National Museum of Scotland (Edinburgh) there will be a fantastic exhibition about the Celts. For sure I will assist!!

Some of the most famous Celt treasures will be shown, like the Battersea shield (the one that Andrea's Britton chief is carrying ;)) or the Gundestrup cauldron. I'm very excited about it!!! Lucky me! :)

This terrain is great Fermatgom. How did you do the water? A tutorial for nerds will be fantastic for someone like me.

Buenas M.E.

I will try to explain how I’m doing it (not finished yet). Doing the water and tiny waterfalls is the last thing. First I finish all the other details: I paint the rocks with different greys and dry-brushing lighter every time. Then I apply several citaldel washes with brown (all over the surface), olive green (only in the zones near or below the water) and black (in the deepest areas and cavities). Finally I add some plants and turfs.

For the water: To simulate the water I use two products, Vallejo still water and Vallejo water effects, I also used thin transparent fishing line and cyanocrilate. But the very first thing and most important was to plan the position of the rocks and the waterfalls to have a logical path for the water.
First I cut the fishing line and glue to the rocks using cyanocrilate and tweezers. Then I put a thin layer of Vallejo still water over the rocks and on the tips of the fishing line to cover the end.
Over the fishing line I paint randomly using Vallejo water effects. It’s a dense gel easy to give some shapes. Once this gel is dryed you can apply several layers to increase the water droplets effects. To increase the depth of the water in the still areas is necessary to apply several thin layers of Vallejo still water every 24 h, (no more tan 1-2mm). I still have to apply some more layers…
I hope I made myself clear (mi inglés no da pa más! ;) ). Anyway you can find some good tutorials if you google “vallejo water effects tiny waterfalls”. Try this link as well
