Hey Guy's,
I finally got around to painting the Centurian's feet and sandels.

Sandels.

Undercoated with Apple Barrel acrylic Burnt Umber,

1 - Base= Mars brown + Alizzarin brown.

2- Memium shadow = Windser blue added to base mix.

3- Deep shadow = pure Windsor blue.

4- Medium highlight = Mars brown + Mars orange.

5- second highlight = Mars orange + Naples yellow.

6- Extreme highlights = Naples yellow.

When dry I will give it deeper shades with glazes of Windsor blue and more enhanced highlights With glazes of Naples yellow, and into the oven at a temperature of 140 degrees for a couple of days.

weathering is done by applying a couple of controlled washes of Raw umber.

Hey Roc,

It's a very beautifully painted figure. Looking forward to your shield.

Hey Roc , nice work my friend. I know how demanding this figure is since I painted one. It got me a bronze in Glasgow 4 years ago. It's still in my website if you want to have a look. Anyway , again beautiful stuff !!!

Wong,Daniel,Rob,Jason and Stephen, Thanks a bunch for the nice comments, much appreciated. :)

Jason, the ground work is not even close to completion.
I use celluclay mixed with water and elmores white glue to an oatmeal consistency
to which I add acrylic raw umber to tint it.

I give the base a coating of white glue, and then I apply the Celluclay mixture .
While the Celluclay is still wet I sprinkle a mixture of sand and crushed kiddy litter
to the base.

Next I will put in several types of dry vegetation which are obtainable from floral shops, and stones an small rocks here and there.

For grass I use hemp rope and deer hair cut to different lenghts as to represent patches of uneven grass.

After the ground dries I will give it more washes of Jo Sanjo's Raw umber .

Apple barrel country tan acrylic is dry brushed with a flat brush for highlights.

For extreme highlights I use country tan with white mixed into it.
When completely dry I will give one final wash of raw umber,to pull every thing together.

Stephen,
I saw your Centurian on your website, and it is truly a beautifully painted figure.
Keep up the good work.
Roc.

Agree with all the other positive comments. Fine detail on the feet and sandals. I enjoy seeing the mixes too.
