Hello Graham...Just wanted to thank you for the really prompt dispatch of your latest figure arrived day after I ordered it ....A stunning peice of casting, best I've seen in a long while, should be a really colourful subject to paint and can't wait to get started..... Love this period in military history....Thanks again....

Just got the figure this morning and have opened him up. Fantastic. Beautiful sculpt and as usual top top casting. Wish I'd got his one off Moz but never mind. Many thanks for the prompt despatch.

Sorry about quality of photos...I'm no photographer I'm afraid but I'm pleased with this so far....super quality casting is helping me with the paint job .... Not a subject I would normally be tempted by but can't leave this figure alone will try and take some better photos when I've progressed a bit....thanks...Kevin

Coming along Kevin.

Cheers Carl ...have really enjoyed painting this so far...considering I've got figures from way back untouched for years I don't know what it was about this one that caught my imagination....by the way do you know if I have the brass fitting on the rifle correct...the only reference I have is an old box top of an imperial guard airfix...cheers ...good to know somebody is watching...kevin

Very nice work on this figure Kevin. Have got my eye on one and would love to finish it for a change.
I see lots of Humbrol cans around your bench, is it all done in enamels?

Don

Kevin, what a fantastic job you are doing on that Zouave, and in what looks like Humbrol enamels, takes my breath away. I can't wait for mine to arrive now. This for me is a bit like you said, and normally I would not have gone for it, but it is so colourful, and knowing how superb the casting quality of CGS figures are, they remind me of the Poste Militaire quality cast figures that Ray Lamb produced, I have just got to have one. For me the subject has become secondary, it's the quality of the sculpt, and casting that has sold it. Thank you for sharing your work with us, you really have done that justice.

Hello all and thanks for the feedback on this figure ...it's really the first I've ever posted on owing to my rubbish photography...I've painted this in a mixture of humbrol Enamels which I've used since I was a kid mostly for the detail work and for the face and hands ...all the larger areas I've painted with oils ...For some reason I've never got on with acrylics I suppose you stick with what you know really ....glad it appears to. Look alright only wish I could take a decent photo of it .... I can really recommend this figure to any interested in the Crimea period it is a really colourful subject....hope to do a bit more later on and maybe post a few more pics...once again many thanks for all the feedback....... Kevin
