Top-drawer sculpting that is!

Do you intend these for commercial release or are they a one-off project for yourself / commission for a collector?

Sculpting looks so easy when the professionals do it.. Although I think I could manage to get the bit of sculpting putty to stick to my thumb nail... but that's about it I'm afraid..:D
Looking forward to seeing the finished figures..
Thank you very much Warren. Just pinch off a little of whatever you may have, roll it up between thumb and forefinger for a bit and just blob it on the opposite side of your preferred sculpting hand ;).

I don't know about the professional tag, I'm wearing the amateurs badge.

Hi Chris

These are really coming along , love the way you deal with folds and the ability to do the faces so well

Thanks for updates

Looking forward to seeing more

Nap
Hi Nap,

Thank you, depends on the face at times indeed, but I find folds and creases a definite a challenge. So much to consider, heavy material, light material, the angle of the bend, what might hang over more. It needs to look convincing.

Cheers
Chris.

These are coming along really nicely, it's a pity we've lost that raised eyebrow under the FSH though. Cracking bit of sculpting, you're an inspiration.
Scotty.

Thanks Scotty, and I agree, it was unfortunate that it's been covered up. I didn't set out to have Chard with the eyebrow raised but after using some of the photos of him as reference, it's definitely part of his character. When the next step was to put in reference to the illustration, I just did the helmet like it was, unfortunately it's covered up that part.

I'm so enjoying watching this take shape.
This period has always had a soft spot for me since watching the film Zulu when I was a kid.
(Many moons ago)

Malc
Thanks Malcolm,
I'm a big Zulu fan myself, probably my favourite movie of all time, and would also tie with military period this and Napoleonic.
Cheers
Chris.

An update on Bromhead. At the beginning of the week I had gotten closer to finishing when I felt the pose of the figure wasn't quite right. I decided to make some changes which lead from one thing to another.

Firstly needed to change the crate to a larger size. Then I made some steps towards adding a new base.
Once I was happy with the foundations, so to speak I could then start the seated position of the legs again. Back to doing some creases and folds of the trousers. I've also made the boots separate and as well as location keys for them.

So the 'almost finished' figure below no longer exists.

Hi Nap,

No problem's, I have a habit of posting my progress of a sculpting project whether it may be working or not. Sometimes it just so happens that I see something that's not working and feel it needs to be altered to work for me.
It may be a small or something that's significant, it's all part of the journey I guess. I set out with a particular idea in my mind of how I want it to look, I do my best to make that a physical reality.

Cheers
Chris.
