Hey All

Finally got started on the 54mm Masterclass, Chasseur a Cheval.
So far I've gotten some work done on the head. The face is done and some fairly broad strokes on the colpak. The lace, braid and flounders have only the first coat of goldbrown.
So far what's been done is naught but a drop in the ocean, but it's a start.
As always, comments are more than welcome.
BTW, my crappy camera has washed out much of the darker shading in the face and fur of the hat:mad:

Cheers

Colin

Nice start Colin , can't wait to see more pics.
By the way, did you change settings on your camera??, cause the pics looks much much better and really neat on those shots.
Keep us aprise with your progress (y)

Thanx Daniel

My camera has automatic settings, they can't be changed manually. Tonight I figured out if you half depress the button and hold it, the camera automatically focuses and adjusts the 'white' setting. If you wait till it gets to the desired level then fully depress the button it seems to work better. Not great but better.

I plan to post more stages as they develope with this one... It's really a nice figure and I hope I do it justice.

I am sure you will , your work is getting better with each fig ,keep'em coming!

Nice start, Colin!!!
I don't mind if you insert details about paints used and any thoughts, planning the next steps, etc. :)
I'll follow you like a shadow! ;)
Cheers,
Zeno

Thank you Marc, Like I said, it's just a start. I think what I found with my camera will help my pics.

Thanks Zeno, I'm gonna try to post more detailed stages. If you are curious about any mixes or anything just ask and I'd be more than happy to share any info you want.

Alex, thanx for the words of encouragement. That seminar you ran was the best two-bits I've spent since I started painting figs.

Daniel,
I've been on afternoon shift this week, time is basically divided between work and sleep  To top it off I had a crack in my motorcycle's frame I had to weld up... Roads in Toronto are the *****... gotta start riding a dirtbike instead of a chopper. I work tomorrow as well but I'm off Monday and Tuesday (might take the rest of the week off too, next weekend's a long weekend, Canada Day:D ) so I'll have lots of time to paint. Should have some more to post by mid- week.
