Hi Malc

Your are the king of resin removal ...lol ...nice work on the colpack

I think you lace replacements shouldn’t be too bad as this is a large sculpt ....take it slowly!

Have fun @ the bench

Made a start to see how it shapes up.
I'm thinking rather than cut the braids i will use paint, as i use oil it (fingers crossed) should work... we will see.

Flounders are now completely removed.

Nice sculpt on the chest braid. When you say paint as opposed to cut I assume you mean the twists in the cordage, sounds like a great way to do it.

Cheers Simon

Hi Malc

Do you mean build up the lacework with oils rather than use putty ...intrigues me to see how it works

Nice result on the lack of flounders

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

Simon, Nap yes paint them on rather than bit my nails to death ... lol,
Although not all illustrations of the 7th appear to have two colours, make it a lot simpler but we're the fun in simple

Hello guys longtime no post or progress on this chap, however after working an extra year... I'm now 67 I am RETIRED so this little chap is back under my magnifier 🔎 (blind as a bat), anyway hope you are all well .

So next is to carry on with the cords and buttons.

Forgot to mention... I had a crappy knee (bone on bone hence no progress)

All good now.😁

Cheers Briggsy
He's all set up and ready to go again.

Colpac is actually done and in primer, will be fixed defore paint.

I will also put the pic as a reminder of the chap I am based it on.

Then his chin is going under the knife 😖🤣

Thanks Malkie, more time than should have as my Dremel gave up a couple of years ago so knifes and files same with the body ... mostly knife so not as neat.

Still looking OK now

Hi Malc

Great to see you posting , hope the knees not too bad

and your back with this fellow ...nice scale to play on

Nice work getting the colpack as you wanted

Looking forward to seeing the cords and flounders

You be careful with the knife.......you reshaping the chin ?

Have fun

So difficult to get rolled putty to a consistent thickness.

You say the colpack looks a little rough having carved with files and blades. A coat of liquid sprue would round everything off nicely.

Simon

Welcome to retirement. You may be surprised how little time you actually have...... 😁

Good to see this one back on the bench.

Thanks Briggsy
That is how I did the Colpac which I'm happy with, it the braiding I think is a little rough but will be fine when done 🤞

As for the braid I'm sure it will all good 👌

Progress and it is taking shape.

Might be a little rough but a little fettle and oil paint should be pucker.

So will let it dry out over night then attack that chin.

Smooth the belt as well.
