Greetings to all!
I always wanted to shed some paint on this magnificent piece, and this is how is the thing coming along. I've discarded the color scheme of the blanket inspired on Robert Griffin's portraits, and I've gone to something more funny. Obviously some of the parts are on an early stage, sparticulary the white blouse, and still lacking the feathers which are being painted separately.
Thanks for looking. Any criticisms welcome!

Cheers, Gerard

Thanks Gerard.
About the blanket design I just googled for "cherokee blanket" and this is the 2nd image that i found. I know This is is not the researching standardhere on Pf..:shifty: ( I assume I may have probably copied from a tourist souvenir product) But I thought It was an interesting challenge to get some practice...
About the mediums flesh is done on oils over acrylics, the rest on acrylics and some tints on the metals

Hey Gerard.
Bad every where my friend! ! but life goes on! i'm in no doubht the spanish economy will get
back to normal ! or is that wishfull thinking:sorry: the blanket design's great, if you say its from tourist souvenir:woot: that ok!
when you do come to Euro your find yourself very welcome from yours friends on P.F! who would love to see your work close up.

Exceptional work on this Gerard , I'm sure Carl Reid will be well pleased with your rendering of his classic indian bust

Ron

Thanks Ron, I'm giving here a last chance to oils here (I'm following the advice you gave some time ago about drying the thing under a bulb light). But once you get some good skills on acrylic painting it's really hard to turn to oils. In this case my idea was to paint all the flesh tones once more all on acrylics..until I arrived to the bald zone of the head:hilarious: ..a good bald, shiny and well smoothed skull really needs oils!!

Well Gérard, this looks ligne outstanding work for me. For the historical
Truth, I think that thé most important is to have pleasure
Woth tour painting job.
Thank for sharing your quality job
Cheers
Yves
