Chicago Show - eating at Maggiano's

My husband and I plan on eating at Maggiano's on Friday and Saturday nights during the show. I plan on making reservations soon, so if anyone would like to join us, just let me know. (Each pay their own bill, of course. )

The restaurant is walking distance from the hotel (ok, a bit of a long walk - maybe 15 minutes). If you click around their website, you'll see that if you sign up for their email list, you get $10 off your first meal there.

well i gotta say, i am planning on attending one year! it would be nice to see new sights and how shows 'feel' there Wendy. hope you have a great time and meet lots of nice Folks and some new friends too.

Awesome Dee! Well, I only mentioned it was close so people wouldn't think it was downtown or something. If people didn't feel like walking or it was getting too close to reservation time, we could drive.

Looking at the show schedule, Friday the doors close at 8pm, so I was thinking 8:15pm reservation. Saturday the doors close at 5pm, so I was thinking around 5:30. I called them to get an idea of how booked they are already. Saturday will be tight - it's getting full already, so what time on Saturday will come down to what's available when I can give them a number of people. I'm glad they added another hour before the awards ceremony on Sat. (And if anyone is wondering why we'd eat at the same place twice, well, first the food is really good and second, Kris has been getting gift cards for the place for birthdays and such.)

Ok, here's an update.

I went ahead and made some reservations. I figure the best place to meet is the entrance to the show where the desk is.

Friday at 8pm: I went ahead and reserved a table for six, with four spots filled. Two spots open.

Saturday 12pm: I reserved a table for four two spots taken for sure, one spot maybe taken if Dee wants, and one spot for sure left open. (Really though, I think lunches aren't so busy that they couldn't fit more.)

Saturday dinner: Just reserved a table for hubby and I.

Just as a note, last year we found it was crazy busy on Sat. night at Maggiano's and I didn't want to risk missing the awards ceremony (they added another hour this year), so we got taken out and ate it next door in a bakery. Afterwards, we bought dessert from the place to justify using their table. It worked out pretty well.

Enough talk about food. Time to get those last minute projects done.
