Hello Everybody...

Here is Pegaso's 54mm Han Dynasty Chinese General. He's the subject of a lengthy, rather introspective narrative style SBS over in the vBench forum. I go into quite a detailed explanation on how every part and every detail of this figure (even all the freehand patterns) was approached and painted. He was an absolute blast to paint, and I enjoyed every minute of it...

For those of you who have taken time out to follow that rather lengthy SBS, thanks again for all the encouraging words - they are all very much appreciated!

For some reason, the light is a little different in these (I think I turned off one of the lamps in the room the photos were taken in)

I like it very much, the freehand in the back is wonderful. I don't know if it is the lighting or not but may I offer one suggestion ? since the red garnment is presumed to be silk, I think that I would have gone with very strong highlights alternating with very deep shadows but without smooth transition between them if you see what I mean. This gives the illusion of silk in comparison with other fabrics like cotton, etc.

and the face is perfect !

Thanks a lot Alex - I'm really happy to hear you like it! Regarding the robe, as obvious as it could be, I didn't think of silk at all! To me, I thought the material was something heavier! Having said that though, your advice for silk is spot on and totally how it should be done!
The face went through a couple of revisions (I wasn't happy with the results of the first time through), so I'm glad to hear that you like it (y)

By the way, I still check out that samurai you last posted! I have several of them (all unpainted), and yours is definitely an inspiration!
Phil
