WIP Civil War Cavalier

Still a very much work in progress, but here's my take on an English Civil War Cavalier. So far using a mixture of Milliput, Super Sculpy, and Green stuff putty. Bits of plastic card as well. I'm not too happy with the shape of the Breast plate, but learning as I go. He's only my 3rd totally from scratch sculpt so (kind) criticism welcome.

Nice start, love how you have constructed the helmet lobster tail. It's an absolute age since I last used Super Sculpy, nice stuff to work with though. I think with the breast plate you need to get some of the irregularities sorted, fill the depressions and then sand it all down and repeat till you are happier with it. A slow process as it needs to set between times but it will pay dividends when you come to paint it. Out of interest what scale is it.

Definitely going to put more work into the Breast Plate to try to make it better. Scale wise, he's quite big, probably around 1/6?

.......nice start on the helmet particularly the face protectors and the’lobster tail’

I agree ref the breastplate.....it needs to be wider IMO towards the arms and then like Briggsy said shaped , once that’s shaped it’s going to look so much better

You might have seen these but if not they could be of use
