Hello Everyone

So sorry for my hybernation.............but at least I'm alive and kicking ;)

Here's the Consul of Rome, ready at last!! It's only 75% of my usual effort so try and keep your bombardment to a minimum please

This piece will never leave its showcase as its in the hands of my sergeant who's a Roman fanatic and even dresses up as a Centurian during the Good Friday procession that we Roman Catholics hold annually.........I painted it for him for a very very reasonable price, so I can get off early from duty!!!!!!!!!

Take Care All

Ray.....

Thanks Gary :)

Well, not too bad  (the figure I mean, not your overly rated praise)

Ray ;)

Hello Ray!
Beautifull painting. Especially face! Figure and base looks great. Compliments.

best regards
Artur :)

Ray,

I hope your duty is gonna end today. In my opinion he is worth 12 month payment. :) is a stunning painting. That cloak is awesome. Only the legs (above the shoes) are in my opinion a bit dark (my two cents)
Further it is great. Gonna see him alive at Euro ????

Marc

Very nice work Ray, how did you get the smooth finish on the metalics?

Cheers Steve Walks (y)

Excellent work Ray.......flesh tones and metals are super.

I moved this topic over to your vbench from Calvin Tan's ;)

Arthur thanks, I agree..... face and base are amongst the few good assets!

Marc thanks, but have to disappoint you as its going to stay where it is forever.....protected by the showcase....... My three figures for Euro will be announced soon........

Steve, printers ink and oils were used for the metal sufaces......

Guy thanks buddy.......it was 02.30 and I was sleeping over the keyboard.......Jim noticed it and dropped me a line to verify, but you beat him to the target.........

Hardy, thanks mate........hopefully will meet in Folkstone........

Ernesto it is a magnificently sculpted figure by one of the most talented sculptors in the business.......Adriano Laruccia.......my only regret is that I only managed that 75% of my ability and hence didn't do its due justice..........

And now I'm going to be my self critic and access the figure from my honest perspective to show how I reached the 75% mark..........Even though I will be doing it in a humourous way its the plain truth believe me........

Face - 99.9%
Metal - 101%
Remainder flesh - 50%
Leather- 50%
Tunic - 50%
Cloak - 65% (due to the bright tone)
Waist sash and plume - 50%
Base, terrain and nameplate - 100%
Average - 74.9%

Take Care,

Ray ;)

Ray,
nice work! The red on the cloak is some of the best I've seen! I think I would like to see more contrasts in the details of the armor and helmet, but a very nice piece over all for sure!
