With only a couple of exceptions, I've moved away from anything larger than 90mm in recent years when it comes to full figures. But I really like this one and might even pick it up.

And I didn't know that the SAS used the M-16. Every day's a school day!

Consider it sold! Although I must add in fairness in the original he's reaching for his fags not the radio

Sgt Maher's citation London Gazette 8th October 1982

23963008 Sergeant Joseph Gordon MATHER, Special Air Service Regiment.
Sergeant Mather commanded a 4 man patrol tasked to provide vital information on enemy dispositions and installations on East Falkland as a prelude to the repossession of the islands.
Inserted by helicopter from the Naval Task Force at a distance of 120 miles from the islands, he maintained observations of the enemy movement and dispositions in the Bluff Cove, West Stanley areas for a period of 28 days. In a totally hostile environment, with the only protection from ground and air search provided by the skill and stealth of his patrol, the reporting by Sergeant Mather was both accurate and timely.
In order to obtain the detail of the enemy disposition he was required to move his observation position to close and often obvious positions to gain the intelligence required. This he did with great courage and skill knowing that it compromised his patrol could not have been extracted from any predicament caused by enemy action. In addition he communicated his information in an environment where the enemy were known to possess a
Direction Finding capability.
The leadership and example shown by Sergeant Mather were
in the highest traditions of his Regiment and the Army.

Gordon

Starting this model tonight. A fellow Mod on Army Rumour Service advised me to get a decent M16A1 as the kit supplied one is not up to scratch. A quick order placed with Reedees and lo and behold, a pair of pristine M16's arrived. They are very nicely moulded and not distorted, unlike the one supplied with the model. Tonight will be spent cleaning everything up and then a bath (for the model, not me) in warm, soapy water. For those of you who do not model with resin, it is always advisable to wash any pieces to remove any trades of mould release oil. Hope I'm not teaching others to suck eggs. The model pieces will be left to dry overnight; I don't want to risk distorting any pieces by using artificial driers.
