Well,

Here it is. Again, not perfect, but it has been a very enjoyable experience. Thanks to all who have posted comments. Feel free to critique the painting as well.

Hey Barry,

I think you have done a very nice job all the way around, sculpting and painting. I would add some high highlights to the figure and around the collar and lapels, I would outline them. If you look at the side view you can see what I mean. I think the bust looks nice but just from the pictures it looks like it is just missing a few more high lights. This is just my own 2 cents.

I agree with Joe here!

You have done a great job overall, but I think that it could be even better with a couple more high's added. Although less contrast may be your preference, if that is the case ignore my post :)

Keep it up! Great sculpt and painting!

Barry,

I think it looks wonderful all the way around. As fas as the highlights go, I dont think you need them, I saw this one in person last weekend. I was you comp. with the voltiguer bust. I think the pictures have hid the true highlights somewhat. Keep up the great work. It was great to meet you.

Joe - I see what you mean about the outlining. I'll go over some of those areas.

Anders & Joe - I might add a highlight here and there. Maybe on the face?

Brad - Thanks. Saturday was fun. I'm glad to see you Colorado guys showing up with figs at the Gathering. A few years ago, there would generally be only a couple of historical figs. You guys really brought some high quality stuff.

Thanks for the comments and compliments guys!

Barry, Very nice job on the bust. If the bust looks nothing like the photos leave it as is, if not a few light highlights on the high spot would'nt hurt. I can't wait to see what's next.~Gary

Barry,
Good job on the bust. The photos really don't show the painting to its advantage. I too had the chance to see it at the Gathering. By the way, it was also a pleasure to see your samurai archer. Look forward to seeing more of your work, maybe you will be able to make it to Grand Junction for our show in March?
Jim

Thanks Jim!

Actually, the samurai wasn't mine. In fact, I thought it was yours!

Which figs were yours? If I'm not mistaken, you brought the piper?

I wasn't aware you had a model show there. If I can, I'll come. I love that area.

Barry

My misunderstanding, sorry about that. Yes the piper was mine, as well as the Other Andrea Highlander, the Poste Militaire conquistador, and the 120mm zouave. I will send more info on the show.

Jim
