Outstanding...very nicely done. I like the way your reds turned out, and the drama of the vignette. The eyes of the horse really tie it all together. Would be interested in hearing how you did your horse, and achieved the "natural" sheen on the horse.

Thanks for the comments,

Patrick, here is how i did the horse:-

Base coat - Humbrol 62 (matt mid leather colour) airbrushed
Shadows and lowlights - Velejo matt Black (airbrushed into the folds and creases in between the muscles and then a light blow over coat of the same black to knock the harshness of the leather colour back
NO HIGHTLIGHTS
then go over the whole thing with Velejo satin varnish
thats it, very simple but effective. I have to say though, the humbrol 62 is the only humbrol colour I ever use... I hope that helps you ..

The long grass was taken from a very cheap household natural bristle brush, just trimmed off at various lengths, making sure you keep the split ends(softer ends) as the tips of the grass and gluing the cut ends to the ground work with superglue.

Once dry, you coulour the grass with an airbrush from overhead with various very liquid greens and browns, this makes the paint flow to the base of the grass giving a nice graduated feel to the final grass...

in answer to your question the front leg is pinned all the way to the inner body of the horse the rear actually has one leg touching the fence to steady it...

the kit itself is very well cast and fits pretty well too, as is always expected the horse need a bit of filler for the two halves but the figure is in only 4 main parts, Torso and legs, arms and head...

The composition for this figure is great! maybe you need a litle bit more highlights and shadows over the red color.....the horse is really well done and the terrain is superb
