Hi everyone.
A quick question......... Has anyone had any success with using acrylic crackle medium and if so, can they share the secret please?
I have tried using Vallejo's own medium and an artists type, both of which have not even provided a hairline crack, let alone the effect of peeling, flakey paint :grumpy:
I can only assume it must be me and not the product. :sour:

Hello Richard, I have used the Tim Holtz Distress Crakle Paint (white-picket fence) on wood with amazing results. I applied it thin, and in a few minutes it started to crack. I then took a sharp hobby knife and flicked away portions of the paint to get a chipped effect. It produces a very realistic effect. The wood was painted first with a weathered gray color. The thicker the crackle paint is applied, the larger the cracks. Hope this helps a little. Regards, SG:happy:

Thanks guys.
I might try that Tim Holtz paint, certainly what I have already is no good. I've tried painting over the medium, putting medium over the paint, mixing paint with the medium and each time I get the same result.....No effect at all. (n)
