Hi Zeno, wonderful colours on these pieces. I love the muted/earthy tones you are using to great effect.
If I may offer an opinion on the composition....the first picture of the whole group has a slight imbalance to it.....may I suggest that you bring the dead/wounded 'Roman' down to the level of the wolf.
By doing this, and bringing the third 'Dacian' up to the level the Roman is in the picture, it creates a 'sub-story' of the Dacians watching the wolf's interest in the wounded/corpse of their victim.
This is purely a personal picture that came into my mind when looking at the whole.

Like the understatedness and that I see Odin on that Chieftan´s shield >;~} >

I´m sure the "Goth" figure was also released ina larger scale than 54mm. Can anyone confirm this and point me in the direction of a producer/supplier?
Spike.
Thanks Spike! Glad that you like it!
As far as the Goth, I'm not aware about a larger scale release (same posture). I'm sure that we will get help on this.

Hi Ron,
Thanks a lot for your fantastic feedback. Love the "feed them to the wolfs" idea of a "sub-story". Because I already started to build the base, what I can do is to bring the wolf to the level of the dead roman and I'm going to change his position to face him. The front side and the wolfs corner is not worked yet, so I can do this. Unfortunately, the 3rd dacian, (left) is already on the base but, I'm going to build a slight slope to the right on which the wolf will be at the level of the dead roman. So, in this way, I will have them supporting the sub-story.
When I positioned them as you see in the pictures, the idea was/is that they all face an objective to attack (e.g. the big roman bridge over the Danube from Drobeta which BTW, they burnt/destroyed during the 117-118AD revolt) which is not in the sight of the diorama viewer. Everybody is looking in same direction. The wolf is not a "tactical" presence, is more a "symbolic" presence but now, with this new arrangement, will add to the story.
Again, thanks a lot Ron for this excellent idea. It is very much appreciated!
This is great! Always have something to learn!

A small step forward. Still work in progress. Some touch ups are required and need to work the accessories (shield, gladius, pugio, pilum and helmet).
Here are the photos and let me know your thoughts. Thanks a lot for watching.

Zeno

Zeno has he got rigour mortis :) needs to look more dead, body matching ground contours

Ron
Thanks a lot for your feedback, Ron! (y)
That piece of wood is just a handle. I have this wood piece cut at 45 on which I put a painters tape to hold the fig in place during painting. The painters tape is not so tacky. Enough to hold the figure in place. When he will go on the base it will match the groundwork contour.
Thanks again for watching!
Cheers,
Zeno
