Hello Planeters,
it's a long time I don't post here, for those who don't know me I'm Riccardo, I live in Rome Italy and I have a great passion for sculpting.

I want to share with you some photos of my last piece, it's a nice distraction from the historical figure, and an opportunity to sculpt a bust from scratch after some time.
I wanted to choose an interesting and unusual piece, so a movie star is an appropriate choice.
I hope you like it, I enjoyed this sculpting so much that I completed it in 3 days (with my surprise).
The armature is a resin copy of a previous job of mine. I carved it to be lifelike to the actor Bill Nighy, that I transformed it entirely in FIMO except for the eyes that are sculpted in Magic Sculpt.

Thank you all for your appreciation, it's a pleasure for me to read your comments.

Unfortunately I cannot cast this piece for two reasons: it would be complex to manage the resin copy without a spin casting machine, and second the subject is copyrighted. So this octopus will be a unique piece, sorry for all people asking for a copy.

Christos, the procedure to work with Fimo is the same used by many sculptors using polymer clay. Even if the scale is different (Davy is 1/9 scale) one tutorial I have found really a revelation for my skill is available at this link
http://www.absculpture.com/tutorials.htm

After many sculptures I have adapted the process to my own but the steps are the same. Sometime I use talc instead of turpentine to obtain smooth surfaces

Thank you very much Riccardo for the link.I have had problems in smoothing and also in blending the material together since it is more dry than sculpey or epoxy puttys(by the way how do you soften it before starting to work with it?)..I heat it first a little bit and then i begin work.I will try and experiment since its unlimited time is an advantage. Thanks again(y)

how do you soften it before starting to work with it?

Usually I use small quantity so I soften it piece by piece with hands, and I usually use Fimo soft instead of classic. I have read some articles where sculptors use the pasta machine to soften it before use, but you should reserve the machine for this specific use to avoid mix with pasta.
