I was thrilled to see the character Frank Underwood played by Kevin Spacey in the US series House of Cards was an avid builder of ACW dioramas. He even got the President of the United States to sit down and paint figures with him in one episode.

Been following this thread from the start but just found these images of the Callan Tv series mentioned earlier on.

All a bit before my time (just) but this thread reminded me of times reading (and rereading) old copies of MM magazine in the early 80s before internet and anything you saw in the media about the hobby was like gold dust.

Oooh not half itt does, it was exciting opening good old MM then.
I used to see and chat to peter gilder regularly back then. He used to claim he got paid three times for this.
Apparently the story goes something like :
He made it on commission for the film co. who gave it back at the end.
Ed woodward then bought it, and later gave it back when he moved house,
And later bought it once more !
Wish that happened with stuff I made for others !
