doing "GunnyGibbs"?

I am trying to do my first major conversion by making "Gunny" Gibbs in 1/35 th scale and i several boxes from three companies and they MasterBox,Trumpeter and Tamiya also DML for the sniper rifle unless someone can tell me if there is a better company for this figure.

If he is a `Gunny` abbreviation of Gunnery Sergeant that would make him a USMC.

could i convert a modern army uniform into a marine one so it looks like a sniper uniform?

The only thing specific to USMC snipers is the Gillie suit. Their uniforms are the same as anyone else's.

I assume you are doing the character from NCIS in a previous period of his life? You would have to ID the specific time that the character served, the theatre etc. to uniform him and set him properly. I assume from NCIS Wiki (who knew that there would be an NCIS Wiki?) that the character is supposed to have ebeen activserved as a USMC sniper in Desert Storm in '91 (although from what I recall from news reports there may not have been a lot of opportunity for sniping in that campaign). I assume you need a USMC Desert Storm sniper with a young Mark Harmon head. Good luck.
