Here are some pictures of the finished figure. They are a bit washed out, but until I figure out how to take better pics these will have to do! Flag was a fun challange to paint, though I have a lot to learn!

Don't tread on me

Anders ,
I have followed this thread with joy , love your painting , the little touches you have given him (toes peeking out..great) Lovely painting as well , the flag looks great but not being up too much on US Revolutionary stuff , was there no design on the opposite side ?...I am sure you are right but would be interested as the way the flag looks I would have expected to see something of a design if there was one !!!!

Great painting on the coat and flesh

Nap

Thanks guys,

Joe, are you going to MFCA this year? If so you'll see it there.

Nap,

I am glad that you have been enjoying the thread! Now, as far as I know, the design was only on one side. The makers of HBO's John Adams seem to agree as their flags were also only one sided, I know that tv is not the best reference, but was all I had to compare with. With that said, I could very well be wrong, but everything that I have seen points towards only a one sided design and as such I only did one side.

Don't tread on me

Anders ,
Thanks for that info , just seemed a bit unusual, my forte busts never carry flags on them ...yet !!!!!
Nice work

Nap,

Like I said, I am not 100%, only going by the limited information I managed to gather! I would hope if someone have other reference int he matter that they could share!

Thanks Jason, I hope to be able to go to Tulsa this year.

Thanks Chas!

Great

Hi ANders,

Great work, both on the sculpting and painting. The only thing I'm not so keen on are the eyes. Maybe placing a black dot inside the blue might like more natural?

Anyway, congrats on this great figure,

Gino

Anders,
Great SBS and the finale is wonderful. This came out fantastic and I love the face and colours of the clothes. Great job.
Cheers
John

Thanks guys,

Gino, as the figure is 54mm I am not going to paint a pupil! I once painted a pupil on a 1/35th scale head, looked great in blown up pictures, while in person it looked weird. Though the eyes are bright, and probably not 'realistic' I like the pop it gives to the figure.
