Hello Mr. Manny 001...

Bader is the first figure of a new RPmodels Series, ACES... We are developing a new serial concept, and we will do some ACES, from different countries... So, its a question of time, but we will do more english heroes... But we will have to do another nations heroes... I believe everyone wants to see our hero representative in a figure... And we have more ideas for this serie... Some of them are cruise, but Blondie was a cruise idea, and it was sucess... This one was a cruise idea, and its a tremendous sucess... So we will see in the future...

Thank you for your comment Sir...

With best regards

Hello Mr GaryHiggins

In first place I want to express my gratitute to your comment...

In the beginning I was a little sad, because I thought you dont like the figure... After I talked with you Sir, I understand you like the figure...

Mr. Gary... Develop a pilot concept isnt not easy... You dont have almost no gear, weapons, equipment, and to put the figure in dynamic pose, with action and moviment its a headache... When we study Douglas Bader, we saw many photos of him, and to telling the tru, when I put the post I puted a real figure, and put our photos... And if you do an exercise, and if you put the real photo and above put our photo you will see there are any diference... All points in the face check with of the real photo... and this is one exercise that we do always before put our photos in foruns, blogs and another sites... Its something that let us confortable, because people see our figure and see the REAL Douglas Bader... You can do this exercise with Blondie, Lassen and so one... And we have another thing... Because some of our figures are screaming and are in moviement poses, we change all facial muscles... And i will check each muscle separatable, with my work books... We study everthing with the maxium detail... just for you can see what we do, I will tell you a little history... Some time ago, in the beginning, the first wips of Mad Jack I receive some messages of people told me the face have to closer of bolt rope... When we try to do it, to change, the 3D modelling give us a bug... And because it was in the beginning we dont understand what happend... We fix a moviement software, like people use in cinema industry, and we put Mad Jack in software, and guess... Its impossible to put the rope near of face, because of the British Helmet... and we do some tests, and we fix and find the right way to put Mad Jack send a arrow... I saw Mad Jack trowing a arrow... I saw that... After that, all figures are submit to this software to check the moviment, and if the pose isnt artificial, and if is relax or strenght... I believe in our work, and We do this with the maxium of rigor... Im a very demand person... And I put in RPmodels the some demands that I put in my work...

Dont worry about the comment... For me every comment, idea, tip are important... I try to find in words the best way to improve and the best to grow up... And I do this in my private life... So dont worry Mr. Gary, for me everthing is alright, there arent no problem...

About the 3D... Well this is something new, but ist the same... there arent a good way to develop and create figures... The 3D isnt best then the normal sculpture... Its just a way to develop sculptures... But I understand... When things are new we saw the things with some suspection... And Ive something against me... there are people that develop 3 D sculptures and when they are printed, you can see many layers on... Im not doing any critics, because I dont like do critics... This is just a fact... And people when saw RPmodels 3D Sculpture, can think our sculptures are bad... Fortunally, and with time, we are dismitify that... And every day I receive emails from people that buy our figures, and are cruise with them... And ask me when I have more news to told them because they want to buy... And for me this is my Victory... People saw that we are very professional and recognize us has professionals... The 3D is just another way to do sculpture, nothing else... and this is the reality...

I dont want boried you with more words and I just want to tell you that I preciate your help, and if you know a great hero to develop a sculpture, just tell me...

With best regards
Hugo Pereira

Hello Mr. Nemo...

Thank you for your comment...

This is a 3D sculpture... In RPmodels we just do everthing in 3D ... The name of the sculptor is RPmodels Team, because who develop Douglas Bader was the people that work in RPmodels...

Wow, my opinion for what it's worth is it's just superb, this is raising the bar in figure detail, just amazing.

Hi Hugo, it is as usual a lovely sculpt, but not quite Bader.. I don't know why, but to me there is something missing. Maybe it's the stance or perhaps it is just the feeling of the figure, or maybe it's just me but please look again at all the avaliable photos of this great man.
Best wishes, Gary
PS ever snce I first saw Reach for the Sky, bader has been my greatest hero.
Hi Gary,
I'm going out on a limb here and as I don't know of Bader I'm probably just guessing, but do you think that the thumbs-up is not part of his character? Do you think something more along the lines of holding the pipe in his mouth pose is possibly more representative of the man? Just my thoughts sitting on the sidelines, but again I think the quality is superb.
Regards
Chris.

Hi Chris, yes I do agree with you about both the pose and the sheer quality of the model. Anyone who does not know of Douglas Bader should do themselves a favour and watch "Reach for the Sky" on you tube. the whole movie is there, it starred Kenneth More and he spent a great deal of time with Bader to get the mannerisms and characterisations right. Also o you tube there are various documentaries and an episode of This is Your Life.
Regarding the debate about computer generated models, I don't think 3D printing will replace us hands on sculptors for the same reason that photographs didn't replace painting. The element of human inspiration, the "what if I do this?" isn't there (and yes I am clutching at straws). However, it would be interesting to see a collaboration between hands on sculpting and computer generation.
Best wishes, Gary.

Hello Mr. Chris...

Thank you Sir for your synpathic words... You are very kind Sir... I hope in the end, you will be cruise with this...

Thank you Sir.

Spitfire, Hurricane......who cares! He flew both! If you look at photo's in the biography on him by Paul Brickhill you can also find him in a Messerschmitt 109 [under guard, of course. He was a prisoner by then!] Either way, I think this will set a new standard for busts [without taking anything away from the wonderful works of Smudger!!]

Just the cockpit alone will be amazing, with a beautiful perspex canopy!! I have read a number of books about Airfix and they did plan to make 1/16 or 1/24 scale Gun turrets from heavy bombers but unfortunately it was never got past the planning stage and was not to be, a Lanc or Wellington or even the Ball turret from a B17 would have been great!

Hello Mr. bogusman53

I have agree with Gary the stance is just not Bader (especially the thumbs up pose), the work done on this digital sculpture is flawless and you are to be congratulated on some very fine work, but please reconsider the pose as this would make this fine sculpture exceptional.
