Hallo planetfigure-members,

I`m absolutly new in your forum, but since I found it, I loved it!!

I`m a just for fun sculptor, but I´m absolutly obsessed. :)

Here you can see my momentary work - just in progress:

The model is a drunken british guardsman. Size 75mm.

Let me know what you think about this figure.

I hope you like it. ;)

P.S. Sorry, but I think my english is a little bit rusted. I`m ashamed

Greetings from Germany,
Markus Eckmann

Please don't worry about your English, Markus; it is much better than my German. Your work is interesting, to say the least. Welcome to the Planet--Steve Scott

Nancy

Welcome on PF Markus.
Your subject is very original and the scale which you chose is my preferred .You are sculpting very well, it is your first or have you a little more experience ?I am impatient to see the next steps… and… may God save the Queen

Servus und willkommen Markus!

Thats all mistreatment of german language I will do in this post. ;)
Love the idea, fun and odd.
Looks like it coming out nicely to.
Please keep us updated.

Cheers

Looks good! It's important - to add your sence of humor to your works.
I think it could be better to make some big wrinkles on his dress instead of much small wrinkles.
Wilkommen, Markus!

Hello together,

lots of thanks for your kind comments and your warm welcome.

Your positive feedbacks are very helpful and motivating !!!

The Guardsman is my third sculpture - but surely not my last. :)

And I keep you updated about my next steps.

Lots of greetings from Germany,
Markus

Hello g64,

thanks a lot for your interest.

And here are some pics from my second sculpture. Sorry, but it`s not so humoristic like the actual. ;)

This figure shows a german knight, ca 1370, scale 1/15 (my favorit scale).

The first figure shows a scottish warrior at culloden, same scale, but I have to take some photos first. And that would take a while. :(

Greetings Markus

Hi Markus
Nice work !!Did you started with an academy or differently ? Could you tell us how you did ?
I very like the groundwork ,I think it's important as ,of course ,the painting process.
I look forward the next steps of your druncken guy.
regards

Hello georges64,

thanks a lot for your compliments and your interest.

The knight was build up without a academy. I made a puppet of wire and build the figure step by step with MS. Sorry, but I haven`t made any documentation. At this time I never thought to publish my work.

I will update the next steps of the drunken guardsman this evening. :)

Best regards from Germany,
Markus

Hello together,

here is the update of the "Drunken Guardsman":

The cuffs, the row of buttons "Knopfleiste" with buttons and paspells (Ihope that`s the correct word):

The shoulder strap with paspells:

The regimental patch at the collar:

The total figure:

I hope you like it.

I will update the next steps soon.

Best regards,
Markus

Hello Friens,

here you can see, how it is going on with the guardsman:

This is the raw wooden base:

sockelroh.jpg

The next picture shows the sculpted groundwork and primed base - the right hand of the guardsman ist sculpted too:

sockelgrund.jpg

And now you can see, how the szene ist going on. The walking man on the left side will become a british gentleman, with suit , bowler and umbrella. The kneeing woman on the right side ist a protitude, who takes the guardsmans bottle to taste the whiskey inside. Last but not least there is a little dog. The dogs finally position isnt`t clear this time. This scene was developed by the helping ideas of my friends of the http://www.hz-forum.de - therefore it is nearly a teamwork !

Hope you like it.

All comments are, as always, appreciated a lot.

Best regards,
Markus

Oops!

Id also suggest that the kneeling woman should be checking him out rather than tasting the whiskey while the woman walking about almost sneers at him as the dogs try to sniff him?

Just my thoughts. :)
