Hi
I hope this is the correct place to post this.
Having procudeced a couple of ECW busts, and having a few more in the pipline I have been researching the regimental colours of the two sides in the English Civil War.
At this time there was very little in the way of a uniform. Troops were supplied with coats of a regimental colour, where the colour was usually at the discretion of the Commanding Officer. officers often wore civilian clothes with a sash of the regimental colour.
With a limited number of colours available, the same colours were used by both sides - often during the same battle!
I have loaded onto my website under 'usefull stuff' a schedule of the main regiments and their colours.
This is obviously aimed at those who buy my English Civil War busts, but hopefully painters of other ECW figures will find it handy.
