I am planning to do a diorama of the siege of the old steeple in Dundee which held out against monk and then fell, I will need about eight figures. some wounded and one firing out of a window. I am looking for 75mm scale figures,or 90mm scale figures. does anyone know where I can get suitable figures. I realise I will have to convert them to suit./badger

Hi Bill,

I have a 90mm mount piece of an ECW officer, sculpted by Rob Lane if that is any good. Not sure of any foot figures at that scale though. But you might want to PM Rob Lane (Elan13) as this is a period he is very interested in.

Cheers

thank you for your replys,i dont need a mounted figure as the scene is set in a room in an old churchtower, what i am looking for is perhaps eight figures, one firing out the window, one giving orders, and the rest lying wounded etc. i said 75mm scale but smaller would do, as i still have to scratchbuild the room, window etc./badger

Moz does a nice standing cavalier. At least you'd have a head, cuirass, sword, pistol and a swanky pair of boots to do a conversion to whatever pose you want.

If you are willing to go smaller (1/32nd) -- and modify as needed, I heartily recommend the Airfix ECW offerings: pikeman, musketeer, mounted Cavalier, and mounted Roundhead. These were first released in the late 70s, but they were subsequently re-released as boxset in 2006, if memory serves. I believe they have been discontinued, but you will probably be able to find them. Good fundamental figures, easy to work, and a dream to detail.

Hope this helps!

Airfix figs like those mentioned are a good base for conversion... a touch beefier than Historex yet just as easy to work with. They can also be had for cheap. I have, over the last few months, picked up 15 of the various Airfix Napoleonic mounted and foot figs for around $5 each... The ECW figs might be slightly less plentiful but probably not much more expensive.

i am going to make the diorama with airfix ecw figures as they will be easier to convert to the poses required, if anyone has any to sell, please contact me, i require approx eight figures, one standing firing and three or four converted to wounded , and the rest in various standing poses. as i am going to be doing major surgery on these figures i dont want to spend a lot of money on them , if anyone can help please contact me. thank you/badger
