Edo period samurai, 75mm from tiny leads, in acrylic. An absolutely beautiful sculpt, hope I've gone a little way to doing it justice. The wee bird is painted as a ryukyu robin for all you amateur ornithologists out there.

Nicely composed scene.....well painted too.
What part of this Samurai makes him an Edo period Samurai?

Thank you John, sd, and Mark. The subject is marketed as "edo period" though I suppose it is relatively timeless, the one thing that could be said to mark it as such would be the muted, plain fabrics which became very much the fashion through the later edo period.

Thanks Jim,... I think you're probably right about the muted colours being of a later period.

Thank you Andrew, thank you bob. I was a bit intimidated by this figure at first, I think it was knowing that it was a limited edition, made me want to try as best I could!

Hi,
I agree with everyone else here about your model,

but would add this is a clever piece of scene setting too.

The different components placed at seprate levels and angles allow different viewpoints,
The colour of the painted upright post is spot on,
as is the intense colour of the leaves.

I really like the whole thing.

Paul

Thanks Paul, wish I could take more credit for the base but apart from the leaves it was all laid out for me, all credit to tiny leads (apart from the leaves, that definitely was my idea lol!).
