when I saw your review I hoped you would paint this bust. I will be ordering this soon so yours will be a good reference. If this turns out anything like the Yury bust it will be a stunner. Looking forward to step two.

Thanks guys for your comments. Took another look at it yesterdayday and was not happy with any aspect of of my painting so stripped it back and started again.
I have been playing with acrylics a little latley so decided to have another shot using just acrylics, I will post up some images later this evening. Starting to get to grips a little with these paints but dont think I will give up on the oils.
Well here are some pictures of new progress. I started over agin this time using acrylics for the skin tones, took me longer than using oils. Still some work to do on the highlights and eyes. The hair and beard are just undercoated.
This is so f&^%ing good. Wish i good manage the acrylic's also.
But i'm trying at the moment to do some small parts with acrylic.
Yours are so tarrific..

The acrylics need a lot more patience and a different technique from oils, you can’t push the paints around the same as oils, I am relying on washes of colour built up in layers starting from the outside working inwards building up more layers towards the centre of the area, getting the viscosity of the diluted mixture correct is a problem for me in itself, just keep going at it and experiment, it’s better to add to little than too much, at least you can add to it but you can’t take it away if you add to much.
