Hi everyone

I have been away for a little while as I have been taking my time painting my latest bust, or in this case a pair of busts. They are the excellently sculpted Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson from H&V. At 1/12th scale these busts are a little smaller than what I usually paint but this does not detract from the skill in the sculpting and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the master Raul Garcia Latorre who sculpted these two busts.

In my opinion the bust of Watson is based on the author himself - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. You be the judge -

The busts are painted in oils over acrylics and are mounted on a very nice base that I purchased from Historex.

I hope you like them. Please feel free to comment.

Awesome stuff , I thought about these but could never get the hat done . Great job here.

Hi John ,

They look good like the deerstalker and there is a medal as well for Dr Watson .

Be good to see some more pictures as well

Nice to know you are still painting to a high standard

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for all the comments guys. I appreciate it.
Dekiman, I see what you mean about the photo. Taken with a camera phone. I will try to put on a better photo.
Samson, by the hat I presume you mean Sherlocks. I hate painting tartan but its quite a simple design but you will notice the lack of tartan on the coat.
Nap, cheers mate. The medal is the 2nd Afghan war. I thought that would interest you. John, Valient and Joe, thank you very much.

As promised here are some better photos (taken outside). As you will see I have dispensed with the tartan deerstalker for Sherlock, the reason being I wasn't happy with the pattern. I can't paint a straight line for the life of me. I think the plain version looks better (That's my story and I'm sticking to it)
Hope you like the pics.
