Yes of course!,the "Lakota" interpretation is only for my cards...he he!.Terol sculpt is a Blackfoot blood warrior and "Rain" was a Hunkpapa Sioux.....this last word means "enemy"?.Thanks.Jose.

So Terol sculpted a Blackfoot from a reference photo of a Sioux? Ito-na-gaju is also known as "Rain-in-the-Face" who terrorized the American Frontier for years before he finaly passed away in 1905 or 06 in South Dakota.

So is the beadwork and shield designs Blackfoot....or ....Sioux? They would both be different design and colors. Alot of painters will use your box art painting as reference for painting their version. And then they would title the figure "Blackfoot" and be totally wrong. It would be like calling Napoleon a British general.

This is the original of the figure;for me he looks like a Lakota in the middles 50's of the XIX Century. The pic of Rain is about 1880 ...how are the tipical appearance of a Blackfoot warrior?.Thanks,Guy.Jose.

Hi Jose,

Yes.......the figure is of a typical chief of that time period right up into today. I was alright with the figure until I saw the photo with the identification of Ito-na-gaju on the upper right. I knew right away he was a Sioux Chief........not a Blackfoot chief. The Blackfoot and the Sioux wore similar dress but were easily identified by their beadwork designs and colors.

My suggestion to you is to remove the photo with the name Lakota on it so as not to confuse painters who try to be accurate as possible.

I have ordered 2 of these for collectors and will probably paint a copy for myself as Angel has done a super super job with his sculpting as you have with your painting......"beautiful".......I really look forward to seeing the next releases in this series and if I can be of any help in reference and colors just email me.

Good mornig, guy!.This is the photo, sorry for the delay...and yes,the picture with the "Lakota Chief" is only for me ....and not for the box art,the name of Rain was added in my "carte de visite" later when the figure is painted (from the sources I have for a Blackfoot Chief).Thank you very much and sorry again for the mistake.Jose.

This figure interesting it is possible.
For a long time I look, and it is a lot of questions for authors.
Forgive my opinion, but I support Guy - " Napoleon a British general " - this figure has no history.
Also the anatomy and a sculpture - low and narrow shoulders, wide feathers of an eagle, rough bunches{beams} hair "coup" suffers..........

Much looked variants for " Blackfoot Warrior ", for " Lakota Chief " Rain in the Face " ", - there are no acknowledgement{confirmations} of a history of a thing.
Also I do not see exact reproduction painting.

Probably the author of a sculpture and the author of painting have acknowledgement{confirmation} of all elements of clothes and an accessory{a belonging}???

Forgive my opinion, but I see only "Indian" (Napoleon a British general), and it is a lot of mistake.

Yours faithfully.

P.S. Who is a figure?
