I'm not at all familiar with this time period in history, but can i assume this figure would be compatible with Elite's Captain Souter figure and with Time Machines Last Stand at Gandamak vignette?

Hi Paul.
Your welcomed! :)
Really,Yes.This figure are compatible with boths than you said. The retreat of the
British troops from Kabul,(Agfanistan war).
If you are interested in thi theme, the famous british writer George Macdonald Fra-
ser have a book ,tittled "Harry Flashman",about this war.Higly recomended!! ;)
Regards,

Tomas

Tomas, thank you for the info. i just bought the Time Machine Last Stand at Gandamak vignette at the Chicago figure show. You can be sure i'll add the 2 Elite figures to the vignette. all the best to you.

Love this figure. May have to add it to the grey army. Paul, make sure that the scales are the same, even although they are all '54mm'. I did this years ago when I had an idea for a vignette with an Andrea knight and a Pegaso Saracen. When compared together, it looked more like David and Goliath

Hi Paul,
Totally shure that you can added this figure to the vignette of Time Machine.
Enclose some info of the Brithis Regiments, are the follow ones.

The Battle of Kabul and the retreat to Gandamak
War: First Afghan War

Date: January 1842.

Place: Central Afghanistan.

Combatants: British and Indians of the Bengal Army and the army of Shah Shuja against Afghans and Ghilzai tribesmen..

Afghans attacking the retreating British and Indian army

Generals: General Elphinstone against the Ameers of Kabul, particularly Akbar Khan, and the Ghilzai tribal chiefs.

Size of the armies: 4,500 British and Indian troops against an indeterminate number of Ghilzai tribesmen, possibly as many as 30,000.

Uniforms, arms and equipment:
The British infantry, wearing cut away red jackets, white trousers and shako hats, were armed with the old Brown Bess musket and bayonet. The Indian infantry were similarly armed and uniformed.

The Ghilzai tribesmen carried swords and jezail, long barrelled muskets.
Winner: The British and Indian force was wiped out other than a small number of prisoners and one survivor.

The route taken by the Kabul garrison during its disastrous retreat to India in January 184

British Regiments:
44th Foot, later the Essex Regiment and now the Royal Anglian Regiment.
Regiments of the Bengal Army:
2nd Bengal Light Cavalry
1st Bengal European Infantry
37th Bengal Native Infantry
48th Bengal Native Infantry
2nd Bengal Native Infantry
27th Bengal Native Infantry.

Aniway, the officers uniform in this campaing are very similar. if you are interested in more info, please check;[email protected] Gandamak battle.

I got to look at this figure 2 weeks ago, the sculpting is totally amazing... well worth buying

Dave

Hi all. I apologize but I am nor really sure if you can add this figure in the same Time MAchine Vignette. This is because the Time Machine figures seems to be a real 54mm (more close to 1:32 scale). I do not know what will happen when you mix that figures with Elite figure but can exists problems with the size of each figure.

I just painted the Time MAchine figures and I must tell you that figures are more little in size that another 54mm figures from Pegaso, Andrea ...
Be sure if you are going to mix the figures in the same scene.

Regards,

Rafa
