Really nice a proper salty old sea dog, the red and blue really makes his presence known and the belt is great.

Thanks Nap,
I really enjoyed painting the pistols, and as you say now the arms are in place its brought the bust to life.
Heading off to the bench shortly to continue work on the jacket.

Very nice indeed! That's looking really good now it's coming together. I like the leatherwork and I really like the colours you've used on the clothing, it adds to the character of the piece.

Thanks Nigel, very much appreciated.

I've made a start on the blue of the jacket adding some shadows and highlights.
I'm trying to keep it reasonable subtle. Leaving it to dry and settle to see if I need to add some final touches.

I'd say looking that the coat is just right, you're doing a cracking job with this fella Malc.

Cheers Simon

The paint has settled nicely, just the pocket flaps require a little more work.
Not too much to do now, so there's a chance he'll be ready for the Faversham show.

I'm both looking forward to Faversham and dreading it. I drove to Hayling Island yesterday, an hour plus from where I live and it hurt. Faversham is 2.5 hours away, it's going to be a marathon of endurance, but sod it it's a good show and I also want to.pay my respects to dear old John.

I'd like to see this fella, so if he is ready that'd be great but hey don't rush it on my account I can wait till the next show.

Cheers Simon

Just take it easy and get there when you can. Looking forward to seeing you and your latest work.

I'll be there before 1000 setting off at 0700 as we have a table, which is good at least I'll have somewhere to sit and recover!

Agree there , the shade of blue really works .....especially against the red ....like it

Interesting you never did the sash first then belt ( which looks good I might add )

Thanks for the update

Take it easy

Cheers Nap, Glad you like the colour choice, as for not painting the belt and sash first..... I work in mysterious ways. :wacky:.
TBH, I hadn't thought of a colour for the sash, so carried on regardless.
