Hello again to all, this is my latest model using a new set of paints, which are far superior to the Foundry ones I have been using, just getting used to them.

Its by Andrea and a very good likeness of Charlton Heston. Picture is taken with my new phone so not the best, the purple trousers on Ape are better on actual model, will need to fiddle with camera settings.
I hope picture is not too big?
Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are most welcome. Michael

Hi Micheal, this looks very nice,i think the purple on the trousers is fine, its a very nice scene and your right the figure does look like Charlton Heston, very nice and neat, congratulations

not the easiest vignette in the world to paint as there is too much flesh tones for my liking and the ape is all dark colours. I think you have made a real good job of this piece. Well done.

Hi Peapot,
The Ape looks great, mind not as nice as us chimps. As for the other, us primates call him the devil.

Joking aside Michael I think you have made stellar effort, not an easy one with all that flesh and dark colours on the ape. I must say it's a great likeness to Charlton Heston, what scale is it?
cheers
Richie

Looks pretty good to me the only thing I'd be tempted to do is wash the steps over a couple of times as they look a bit "samey" so the wash will break it up a little. otherwise a cracking looking kit

Richie - The scale for this piece is 54mm. It is by Andrea.

Certainly looks good to me! Two things. One, I see a mistake I make frequently. When painting flesh (except the face, which yours is quite nice) keep the shadows and highlights to a minimum. The rest of the body doesn't get all the shadows and high lights the face gets. Again, I make this mistake all the time! Two, put a wood base on your figures! It will look so much better when mounted on a nice base.
