His work making large-scale figures was my direct inspiration to make historical 1/6th figures.
 
Very sad news. I have enjoyed his art ever since I made my first Historex kit back in 1973.
Easily the best kind of French Gentleman with a love and empathy for the soldier and his life.
RIP, Monsieur and thank-you.
 
One hundred and five is a good innings as they say. I recall picking up some water colour Napoleonics from a street vendor in Paris and being thrilled to see they were actually signed being M. Leliepvre.
