Guns of the American Civil War in 75mm 1/24 scale in resin made by Archimede.
The Howitzer:
8 inch mod. 1841
He was often identified as a "32-pdr howitzer," but it was an 8-inch model mod. 1841. It was also used in the Battle of Seven Pines in 1862. When the Army of the Potomac invested Petersburg, included in the siege train there were a dozen 8-inch howitzers.
To the west, the Confederates used a 8-inch howitzer in the defenses of Fort Donelson.
These howitzers saw service in the role of "garrison" as part of the armament of fortifications on both sides. The 8-inch howitzers were common within the defenses of Washington. On Christmas day, the Confederates utilized such weapons near Charleston. Photographic evidence indicate that the Army of the Potomac 8-inch howitzers used during the operations around Richmond.
The Siege Cannon:
24-pounder
The M1839 from 24-pound smooth bore cannon was the heaviest American which could be moved in the field with relative ease. A piece in tow, it weighed 10,155 pounds and it took 10 horses to tow. Nevertheless, the Union Army of the Potomac brought some of these weapons in the Battle of Fredericksburg.
