A ruler is born...

On February 26, 1954, in the old Istanbul port district of Kasımpaşa (Beyoğlu district),...

...Tenzile Erdoğan gave birth to a healthy boy.

Her husband Ahmed, delighted with his fourth son (along with a daughter), names the boy after his birth month Recep, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar, and gives him his grandfather's surname with Tayyip as his middle name.

Here he is sitting on his mother's lap...:

The son of a seaman in the Turkish Coast Guard has a great career ahead of him in politics...

He first becomes the Lord Mayor of Istambul (from 1994 to 1998) on the ticket of the religious right...

...and then has to serve ten months in prison because he has repeatedly publicly expressed sympathy for the "holy war against infidels" (jihad) and for the introduction of Sharia, which contradicted the state principle of laicism...:

Politically, however, neither his extreme views nor his criminal record did him any harm: from March 2003 to August 2014 he was Prime Minister of Turkey.
From 2001 to 2014 he was and since May 2017 he is again chairman of the authoritarian-religious AKP party...:

In 2013 Erdogan is at the center of a corruption scandal!

On February 25, 2014, the Turkish media published a telephone conversation that allegedly took place between Erdoğan and his second son, Necmeddin Bilal, on December 17, 2013.

Erdoğan calls it a "fake". In that phone call, Erdoğan instructs his son to get funds out of the house as soon as possible.

The investigating public prosecutor was quickly replaced.

On August 29, 2014, Erdogan will take over as President.

One of his first acts was to have a magnificent palace built with 1,000 rooms. The new palace is controversial mainly because it was built illegally; several courts had forbidden the construction, most recently the Supreme Administrative Court.

And since he has been in office, he has been single-mindedly working to dismantle democratic freedoms in Turkey. Journalists and others who speak out against him are routinely sentenced to lengthy prison terms or imprisoned without trial or charge as "terrorists" or "terrorist accomplices".

The new rubber paragraph "Insult to Turkishness" - which can be interpreted at will - has proven to be just as useful, which was included in the Penal Code...

At the same time, the civil service as well as the judiciary and police apparatus are being purged of "opponents", whereby "opponents" are anyone who does not support Erdogan unconditionally.

His country's foreign policy, which Erdogan largely determines, is becoming increasingly aggressive.

Anyone who wanted to know could also know, because the man announced his intentions several times:

Traslation:
“Democracy is just the train we board until we get there. The mosques are our barracks, the minarets are our bayonets, the domes are our helmets, and the believers are our soldiers.”

Erdoğan has been married to Emine Erdoğan née Gülbaran since July 4, 1978; the couple has two sons, Ahmet Burak and Necmeddin Bilal, and two daughters, Esra and Sümeyye...:

After the "victory" in a "referendum" in which dissidents were hindered and harassed as best they could, Turkey's parliamentary system, with a largely representative presidency, was converted into an authoritarian presidential system at the end of 2019, thereby cementing Erdogan's power.

Using the birth name as a month works in English for some months, but not for others.

...April.
...May.
...June.

...August!

"Hey, February, c'mere!" Nah, doesn't work.

Prost!
