Hello guys & girls, just to show I've not been completely idle these last few weeks, here's my most recent effort.
I had abandoned this as I was totally unhappy with the result, but after a conversation & some help from Konny, I decided to have another go.
It also has done me good to do a figure away from what I usually do as well!
Hope you like.... apologies the pics aren't any bigger, my IT skills are worse than my painting. Anyway it'll only show all the flaws!

Anthony, looks pretty damn good to me! I do wish we had closer pics. Would love to see the time you spent on patterning the cloak and kimono. Good stuff!

hi anthony, great job i fancy this one myself. did you have any problems with the fit of the parts, some of the feedback seems to say parts could be better cast. cheer's dave.

Thanks again fellas. Yes, I found the construction a bit of a conundrum. I solved this as follows.
1. I kept the hands/weapon totally seperate until the last possible moment.
2. I mounted the two kimonos seperately and only joined them when they were both done.
This was because there are parts the the blue kimono you CAN"T reach with a brush, but are VERY visable. The old arguement, "If you can see it, you can paint it " doesn't wash on this figure.
I kept the head apart as well, but there's nothing to actually stop you sticking it on from the beginning. I well recommend this one, especially if, like me, you've not really done anything like it before. The change did me good!

Hi Anthony
A great paintjob on what looks like a very complicated figure, well done. ‘If you can see it you can paint it’ this is one worst modelling tips I have ever had.

Excellent work Anthony. I agree with your idea to paint something away from the "Norm" and do this quite alot.
