I've had a productive weekend and this bust is now nearing completion. There are still plenty of little details to finesse and a few corrections and alterations to make, and a few more washes to make over the uniform. The small cameo of the Prince Regent hanging from the neck was a challenge to paint and certainly doesn't look very good in the close up, but when you consider the space is just 3mm by 2mm, you have to accept your limitations I'm reasonably happy with the way the gold braiding came out. I've been experimenting with different techniques in painting braiding, so I'd be interested in any feedback.

Graham, as special thanks to you for this magnificent bust. I intend to paint the busts of Wellington and Bonaparte and present the three busts of the Commanders together as a Waterloo triptych.

Still a few finishing touches required before I call this one finished.
