Hello guy's. I was recently inspired by Marijns' posting of his great "Santa is Coming to Town"dio so I thought I'd give it a whirl. It was alredy posted on another site awhile ago so I hope you guys are not offended by me posting the links. Some do not really include figgie shots but they are already on the page and I have not figured how to post any other way on this site yet as I'm a little bit "computer challenged". Quality of pics are not so great so I apologize for that.

Dan, Great stuff. I really admire those folks that take on such an ambitious projects and then put as much "eye candy" as space will allow. Keep it up.~Gary

Dan, yes I did see that (WOW  ) and no there is no problem here with links. Great to see this dio again. That thing is friggin huge! Great job. How did it take you?

Again, Congrats,
Jim Patrick

As far as post pics here goes, most members use kitpic.com. You can find it HERE. Once you get your photos in there (it's pretty easy), you should be able to post pics here with no problem. When your'e posting a "new topic" or a "reply", look up at the top of the page. Click on the "IMG" button. All you have to do is copy and paste the url for the image there. Sorry for the brief instructions. If it doesn't work, let us know. Everyone will help out.

Dan, absolutly inspiring. I remember the first time I saw that and it still amazes me, great work!

Dan, a question for you. One of the things that makes your diorama "work" is the even value of the tones you've used to paint all of the dozens of individual items, from the tanks to the figures to the groundwork and buildings. What I mean is, nothing looks like it was painted individually. No one item really stands out in stark contrast due to the color. How do you do that? Are you using the same kind of wash or weathering technique for everything.

A really nice diorama!

Great Dio, Dan!!!
I had a chance to see it in person at AMPS East, and it
was a awesome work!

thanks for the replies guy's, much appreciated ;) . Jim appreciate the posting help. I got a couple of figures that I would like to post so I will try that. An answer to your question Steven is that I take a color that is similar to all the rubble and dust color and do a very light airbrush overspray on the whole dio. Really brings everything together quite well IMHO. I also carry up the color on to the figures as I can't remember seeing pics of clean soldiers in combat. Thanks again everybody!

Dan,

Thanks for sharing. I think the whole thing is really nice. I too like how it all ties together. I think that there are many of us figure painters that started with armor and it is always nice to see really good work.

Joe

thanks for the kind words Joe. Unfortunately my photog skills are pretty crappy so the figgie detail in kinda weak. Thanks for taking the time to post though.

Oh man, if you've never played the game "Call Of Duty" in multiplayer mode, that diorama really captures the intensity of the rail yard map. Way too cool!

Maybe I should do more painting and less game playing. ;) But that is so cherry. I love it.
