Tartans and boots!

I can avoid most Tartans but boots! Usually covered in crud and dust they still need painting :(

I also feel a bit naffed off if I spot a seam or pin hole after starting painting, but thats kinda my own fault for rushing :)

GW's liquid green stuff comes in pretty handy as a quick setting filler for those missed pin holes/gaps.

I hate cleaning seam lines on really delicate areas like folds at the elbows, braid, hair or... FACES! Even worse, finding a seam I missed on a primed and half-way painted figure.

Ooohh... I forgot tartan! Highlanders make for great subjects, but because of the prospect of painting tartan, I've picked up Romeo's 75mm Piper at the shop about 100 times and put him back before I walk out the door:eek:

Not over mad on weathering, I find it hard to make it look convincing.
The effects some get with pigments are stunning.;)

Poor anatomy.:ROFLMAO:
Over heavy ceases in the drapery that doesn't relate to the type of cloth or the movement portrayed.
Blow holes[usually resin figures], especially when it ruins fine detail.

Finding little tiny specks of dust and hairs in the undercoat and finished paint...I pick 'em out with a scalpel!!:cautious:

Scratching the finished paint work when finally adding the sword belts.....:mad::mad:

I hate straps and slings too. Especially sabretache straps where you have to bend the three straps around the figure. Arrrgh.

I hate resin clean up - it takes me ages to saw through the blocks and then sand it down. Don't mind metal clean up so much.

When it comes to painting I hate painting the colour white. I find it really difficult to get a good finish. Any imperfection in the blending shows up.

I also hate scratching paint off when sticking other parts on.

The worst part of this hobby is the explanations required when the postman arrives with more recruits for the grey army!
The second worst thing is the occasional requirment with flats to fill pitting, usually caused by old and tired slates.

Roger.
