I don't recall a food fayre last year, drove in no problem.
Feel sorry for anyone else who needed the M11 to go south, the delays would've got progressively worse as the day went.

I'm a little confused,I've just got home from oundle and I did'nt have any problems,I used the same car park as I've done for the previous shows and this years venue laxton hall was nearer than the great hall of other years.
I saw the food fayre in the town street which was'nt interfering with parking for the show at all,the show had a good turnout as far as I'm aware and I did'nt hear of any traffic or parking issues.

I drove past the food fayre and took the road round the back of the shops that runs parallel with the street of the the fayre then drove straight up the road with the cones and into the car park. I think it was more luck than anything else.

Hi Brian
sorry to disagree with you there Brian, we arrived at just after 9.00 am but from the way we entered the town, access to the car park, was blocked, and the steward told me that there was no access to that car park.
despite several attempts at getting there from a different direction, no luck due to additional road closures.
Believe you me I didn't drive all that way just to turn around and go home just for fun.
I spoke to Adrian and he was going down to have a work with the steward, whether he had success or not I don't know.

We drove through the Town and needed to turn right into the road were the school is to get to the car park, that was blocked off as we arrived, there were no earlier turns available that would have got us there. Perhaps we just had an arsehole of a steward who didn't give a b*******s . He was very persistent in saying you won't get access.
And as mentioned earlier, despite attempts to find away in, we kept hitting road closures or one way streets.

We got in after a diversion (A blown tire on the A1 and waited 1 hour & 45mins for the AA as our spare was busted too lol. we set off at 6am from Leeds got to the show 10.45 after navigating the food fair, managed to get into the car park shattered, got the stand up Had a good day with friends old and new. and managed to get back to Leeds in one piece in 2 hours 20 mins much better now having a pint with my feet up.

Cheers Adrian for the drinks mate they were most welcome after a hell of a morning lol.

cheers guys

I drove into the town from the A605 and used the car park on blackpot road which had signs on it for figureworld,I did come to a small road work with temporary traffic lights but that was it,I don't know what steward you spoke to but the car park I used today and other years was available and quite a lot of people used it.
Sounds to me you were given the wrong info about the car parking Malc.
Nobody is questioning you Malc,I'm just stating what happened to me and what I saw and witnessed

I'm sorry this happened to you today, but that steward was talking bollocks,if he'd had took just a few minutes to explain a different way to you I think everything would have been fine mate

Hi Brian

Our Satnav bought us in on the A427 Market Place. Looking at the map the satnav didn't pick a great route.:(

I think you're right, he said we could use a different car park, but I explained that I had a lot of equipment in the car and required that particular car park to unload.
He was very adamant, you an't going to get there.
Shame I was really looking forward to the show.
And to have a crap journey home, well need I say more.

Well I'm sorry you had to go through all that crap, perhaps they could pick a different Saturday next year to the food fayre to avoid all this hassle.

Aye I came with Red Tom and Pete North in the car
off the A605.
I admit I do know the town roads and so we found the usual car park set aside and ckearly marked just for show visitors.

We missed you Mr Enthusiasm,
I know exactly how much you were looking forward to the day.

It was an absolute pain, unfortunately there were no signs for FW the way we entered the town. If I go next year, I'll re- route the satnav to avoid Peterborough.
Not only that the wonderful Vodafone network, where you can phone from anywhere, died in Oundle (n) . Had to use Mrs Malc's phone, thank God for 02.

Still feeling really pissed off, for missing the show.

I approached from the A1 side along the A605, followed the signs laid ut by the team and parked in the normal car park, yes the centre was blocked by the food fayre (Paella was superb).... show was well attended and a great day was had by all that arrived.

What I fail to understand Malc that you drove all the way from London to give up when you were 20 yards ( and I do mean you were that close) from the door, where you saw the steward there was signs pointing you to a long stay car park not 50 yes from where you were, or better yet call someone ( Adrian perhaps) who could arranged for one of us to come and out and guide/get you....
