All looks excellent, love the purple under skirts, and that face is superb. Have to agree with Ken above, the thumb is really out of kilter, looks like it is on back to front

Looks like you have a very nice start. I think the metals look great and so does the face. However, I wonder if he could use a little brighter highlighting on the face, on the tops of the cheeks and on the nose. The skin around the knee looks like it has a lighter complexion when compared to the face and neck, so you might want to make it a little darker. Of course I am just being very picky because it is already so good. I'm looking forward to see how the rest of it turns out.

On a historical note, I think tyrian purple (the color of royalty in ancient times) was a slightly redder purple. Of course since none of us were there who's to say for sure.

Thank you all for the kind words(y)

Beiley, i think that it wold bee bether to use magenta insted of purple, because it turn bluish very easy. Thanks for the advice of the legs i wold'nt noticed until you warned(y)

Fabricio, very nice choice the purple colour for the chiton. Taking in mind that Philip II was the King of the richest state among the Greek city states, his chiton (tunic) should be decorated across the edge of the cloth with nice golden or white embroidered decoration (maeander, laurels etc).

Thanks Theodoros(y)

Do you have any material to help me with this decoration?

If you are feeling very ambitious you can try to work in the Macedonian star into your design. The symbol was found on the gold larnax in the tomb in Vergina which some believe belonged to Philip II.

And, as far as I can tell it appears in the design on the shield as well. Take a closer look at that center square, it looks pretty similar to me.

Fabricio here you are some important images related to your subject: http://history-pages.blogspot.gr/2012/04/blog-post.html

Please note that in the king's cuirass, on the right side there is a small golden icon of Goddess Athena, protecting king's right arm while fighting uprising his sword (in the left he had the shield...) http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LqqOk_R1geQ/T3q8DAERMZI/AAAAAAAAJKs/h367BlWjOJg/s1600/Πανοπλία Φιλίππου 1.jpg

Thanks for closing this one out for us Fabirico.
You've done a super job on this lovely little Larrucia sculpt.
Particulary like your dramatic colour & naturalistic painting style.
Handling on black cuirass is of real note, colour a nicely blended tone with lighter brown makes really effective.

You should be deservedly proud of this figure & I look forward to seeing more MedRom subjects from you.

Stay safe,
Mike
