I am working on a Fonderie Gendarme on horseback and i have assembled the horse but where the neck joins the body i have some missing space and also the seam lines where the body parts go together i have some divots in the putty that are visible after I sanded them. I am using MMD green putty. SO anyone have some suggestions on how to fix this problem. Thanx, Jason

Hi Jason,

I would use magic-sculpt to fill any gaps in the assembly, it can be sanded, filed, drilled etc, it is also more controlable.

Is he MMD green putty the stuff in a tube? If so squeeze a small amount out on a pallette and thin it with liquid glue to the consistency of mud, then paint it on the areas that require attention. when dry sand smooth.

I hope this helps a little.

Carl

if the pits are really small you could use TIPEX or liquid paper .... give it an hour to set and gently sand back.

the advantage of tube fillers is that usually they are softer than the material your filling so less chance of damaging the model.

the epoxy putties are superb for filling but better to get it right first time as some will be harder than the model and they can be very hard work to sand or carve back ( the voice of bitter experiance ( lol ))

I agree with the other guys, Magic Sculpt smoothed with water would be my choice. Alternately AB putty works well, also smoothed with water or acetone.
